Ok guys, we will be migrating over to Mumble to use as Voice communication instead of ventrillo.

Reason being, we cant get vent to a higher capacity (more then 8) without it being free anymore. Mumble on the other hand has unlimited amount of configurations for it including Ultra clear sound codecs.

Mumble also has some awesome ingame features, where it shows whoever is in your channel on top of your screen and highlights whoever is talking. Not only that, but it also has Directional sound for certain games, so for e.g we are playing left 4 dead and Cao is lagging behind and starts screaming hunter, mumble will direct Coa's voice to our back speakers. Or when dom says nothing for 5 minutes while pinned we will be able to find him more quickly while boomed when he finally says 'ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO FUCKING COME SAVE ME???',  It basically directs sound around you depending on where you stand in the game real time.

Mumble ver 1.2.2

Positional audio latest plug ins , the plug in for certain games have to be updated manually on your own computer. So you woul dhave to browse to where you installed mumble then copy the new file to the plug in folder.

When you launch mumble make sure it looks like this:

That version fixes all the directional audio issues.

I managed to score a comp with XP installed on it. It still only has 256mb of ram, but it does have a huge HD and 3ghz cpu. I downloaded mumble, got it configured, but when I connect to your server it just disconnects me. I am using mumber 1.20 alpha?

If you instal 1.20, you have to run the backwards compatible thing that installs with it.

Its a bit confusing. If you cant get that to work, just uninsall mumble and reinstall with version 1.18.

My host finally allowed me to add a-records.  Mumble can now be found at mumble.spearheadclan.com.  I changed the original post to reflect this.  I will change vent over as soon as I find the ip.
